Language Lab Project by Indian High Commission, SriLanka

Oréll has successful completed the first phase implementation of the prestigious digital language lab project by the Indian High Commission, SriLanka at nine deserving colleges in different provinces across Sri Lanka to benefit tens of thousands of students.

iTell, the state-of-the-art language laboratory has been installed by Mr. Joby Thomas, Technical Manager at Oréll. The English Language Lab, built with grant assistance of the Government of India was inaugurated by the High Commissioner of India, Mr. Y. K. Sinha together with Mr. V.S. Radhakrishnan, Honourable State Minister of Education, Sri Lanka and the respective Governors of the each province.

The Language Lab was set up in nine colleges in different provinces including Ruwanpura, Gampaha (Western Province), Kandy (Central Province), Bingiriya (North Western Province) and Adalaichenai (Eastern Province), Matara (Southern Province), Badulla (Uva Province), Kopay (Northern Province) and Polonnaruwa (North Central Province).

Speaking on the occasion, the Honourable Minister recalled the relationship that India and Sri Lanka enjoyed from time immemorial. He thanked the Government of India for its continuous assistance to Sri Lanka and requested more support in the field of education and skills development.

The Indian High Commission said the objective of the project is to enhance English Language training infrastructure in Sri Lanka to impart technology aided language training to English Language teachers from schools, colleges and universities in Sri Lanka, upgrade their skills and raise the general level of proficiency in English Language of various sections of society.
